Honestly, I wouldn’t refuse the male nursery worker. While it is more common and socially acceptable for women to do it, there is nothing that says a man can’t do that job either. Some guys make great dads and good buddies for the kids!

Of course.
Is the World full of paranoid, neurotic people?

Being unhappy about it is like saying I wouldn’t be happy with leaving my child with their own father. So I would be ok with it because who is to say that a woman would not abuse my child ?

Of course I’d accept a male nursery worker. There’s no reason not to. According to the world of equal rights women can do any job men can and vice versa.

I think that there should be more male nursery workers. Kids need male role models too.
To refuse a male nursery worker just because he is male is to imply that all men are paedophiles. Simply not true, and recent events here in the UK have shown that women can abuse children too. It’s discrimination, pure and simple.

My daughter’s nursery is owned by the son of the woman who built and established it; he takes an active hand in running the place and is loved by children and parents alike. They also occasionally employ male nursery workers as cover when the regular ones are off sick. I’ll admit it made me look twice the first time, but I stopped thinking about it after that.
It’s an unusual career choice for a man, but some men have a very nurturing side.

"Out of 6 work colleagues only one would be as happy with a male nursery worker than a female one."
Nice open minded people you work with there.
Women moan all the time about equality …….. well why should we bother, when you dont bother sharing it the other way.
I think its disgusting that people have issues with males looking after children. Shows just how stupid a lot of women are out there.

I know exactly how you feel, because when I was on a flight the pilot came over the intercom and it was a woman. I was given no advance warning or chance to take a flight flown by a man. Needless to say I had a very nervous flight.

Of course I’m joking, but your question is an example of the rabid sexism against men feminists assume it is ok to spew forth these days.

I would have no concerns about a male worker.

If the man was qualified I would have no problem. The care of my children always depends on capability rather than gender.

Yes why not? Not every person is bad. You can’t mistrust every single person.

It wouldnt bother me in the slightest.
There is a male nursery nurse at my daughters school and he is a lovely man.
Look at Vanessa George—a pedo and a female

Given what happened in Plymouth I would not be happy to entrust any nursery worker with the care of my child irrespective of their sex. The name Vanessa George springs to mind, among others.

I don’t have a problem with it HOWEVER, I’ve worked with males who won’t change nappies or anything like that due to parents attitudes.
There was a neurotic parent who accused a male worker of some horrid stuff, the worker wasn’t even in!!… That’s the stuff some have to put up with. I know male workers are less likely to be left alone due to the paranoia too and parents strange attitudes.
If women can do it, why can’t men? Some children don’t have a father figure and LOVE having a male around, it can be quite beneficial and builds trust in those who have been let down by men.

Why not , after all , not to have a male nursery worker would go right against the Equality in the workplace laws. Recent news reports regarding crimes against children suggests that gender makes no difference in law. As for instinct , yes , women do make better nursery care employees which today’s society dictates.
